Muslim World - Global Initiatives

An increasing number of believers from the ‘global south’ are taking up opportunities to work in Muslim nations. As the body of Christ is dispersed in this way, new and exciting opportunities to share the gospel amongst Muslim unreached people groups are opening up. Frontiers is seeking to support these and other opportunities through its growing ‘Global Initiatives’ ministry.

East Africa - Refugee Crisis

One of our teams is running a relief and development programme for some of the worst hit areas of a volatile nation in East Africa. Their activities include feeding programmes for malnourished children, running medical clinics, repairing wells for drinking water, public health education to help prevent disease and supporting education through providing school materials and teacher training.

South Asia - Community Development

This project is serving a highly impoverished community with poor infrastructure. The aim is to help identify and equip local leadership to encourage and enable the community to identify and address their unique challenges. Current activities include: water management, adult literacy and English classes. There are plans to start a ladies centre to host needle work classes and micro-enterprise projects.

Middle East - Palestinian Refugees & Urban Poor

Teams in this region are seeking to serve those living in hardship through various grass-roots initiatives. Projects planned or underway include: micro-loans for small businesses, a literacy project for child-labourers and a youth centre to teach reconciliation, forgiveness and other Christ-centred values.

 West Africa - Community Development

Urban ghettos worldwide are still largely unreached and present a huge challenge. Our teams are working in ghettos in one of the least developed countries in West Africa. Their community development programme - including literacy, work co-operatives, community health and work with street children - is enabling thousands of the poorest people to become more self-sufficient.

Muslim World - 'Going on our knees'

A significant movement is gaining momentum today: prayer FOR the Muslim world from INSIDE the Muslim world. The pace of change is increasing as a result. Funds are needed to develop further training and envisioning initiatives for this indispensable aspect of our work. The vision is that this will include the establishing of a prayer training and leadership centre in a key city in the Middle East.

 Muslim World - 'Ask 9:38'

The harvest in the Muslim world is plentiful, but the workers remain few. There are still hundreds of large Muslim people groups with no witness at all. Our ‘Ask 9:38’ prayer initiative echos Jesus' command to "Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest field" (Matt. 9:38) - by developing and distributing prayer resources and organising regional events focused on praying for many new workers.

 Central Asia - Education Projects

Over a thousand girls in a poor city are being educated in overcrowded classrooms and a tent, where temperatures range from -10 to +45 Celsius. Help build 4 more rooms. Over two hundred children are attending a kindergarten threatened with closure due to insufficient funds. Help keep it open and train more local teachers.
