THE JOURNEY | YOUR JOURNEY

Coaching to Thrive

Our focus is on life-long learning for life-long ministry.

We are each unique and God prepares us for ministry in unique ways for unique purposes. Our flexible and personalised approach to equipping recognises this by not being prescriptive. It centres on the ongoing identification of gaps in your skills and experience and seeking suitable means of filling them.

From the start of your journey until you return from the field, we are committed to assisting your growth and development, drawing on a vast range of resources and our own ever growing (25+ years) experience.

Effective practices

Our experience has shown that effective ministry amongst Muslims centres around five key effective practices: ‘the 5 Cs’

Throughout your preparations and field ministry, we aim to help you to continually develop in these effective practices.

Pre-field equipping

Online resources
At the start of your journey to the field you’ll be able to register on our field preparation website where you can:

  • > Assess yourself against the 5 Cs (effective practices) to help you identify development needs.
  • > Access valuable tools for drawing up a personal development plan and a huge range of resources to help you implement it.

Mentoring
We encourage you to find a mentor to help you develop your plan and monitor your progress. Together you may identify needs for:

  • > Specific training courses
  • > Recommended reading
  • > Spiritual disciplines
  • > Ministry experience in your local church or through an on-field internship

Orientation
After applying to join Frontiers you will be invited to attend a week-long residential course where you’ll learn more about our vision and values and address key field topics with experienced practitioners.

On-field equipping

We are committed, in partnership with your sending church, to your ongoing accountability, coaching, training and pastoral care throughout your time on the field.

This is provided through:

  • > Relationships with your sending church
  • > Each team having an experienced overseer
  • > Peer discussions through secure email forums
  • > Downloadable resources on our secure intranet site
  • > On-field training courses
  • > Regional conferences for learning, refreshing and networking
  • > Specialist personnel available to counsel teams or individuals as needed
  • > De-briefing and re-entry support
