2012: What are your dreams?

Our International Director shares some of his dreams...

“What a tremendous event to have the Olympics in Britain this year! Athletes across the world have been planning and preparing for this big event for years, aiming to be on peak form when the time comes, the dream of a medal pushing them to achieve more.

Represented among the various nation states at the 2012 Olympics will be many of the major families or tribes that the Bible talks about, those who are the intended recipients of the blessing spoken to Abraham and promised to the families of the earth.

As I look ahead to 2012, my thoughts are drawn to the many who are still far from Jesus and to the unengaged Muslim peoples who are our priority focus.

My dreams are for those across the world who, as far as we are able to determine, haven’t yet had a chance to hear the good news of Jesus Christ.

As I work with others in Frontiers to plan for 2012, my hope is that we will increasingly understand how to implant the Gospel into peoples and among populations in such a way that it is understood as blessing and as Good News. We are working together to understand better how to deliver the yeast of the kingdom in such a way that it can be implanted into families and other social networks, and it can, as yeast does, mysteriously spread until it leavens the whole family, the whole network and the whole clan. What we long for is to see movements begin to happen as people understand for the first time that the Good News was intended for them. We’ve started to see this but we long for so much more.

Picture of a Muslim lady holding a childThank you for your friendship and partnership with us in the Gospel, and for being part of the team helping to take the Good News to the families of the earth. Without you it is hard to imagine how we could do it; you are an integral part of our efforts.

May you know God’s blessings this year, and as you enjoy the Olympics in Britain, may it remind you to pray for the many across the world who have yet to hear. Be encouraged that in heaven you will meet families who will say ‘Thank You’ for being part of bringing the Good News to us.”
