FIRST FRUITS
Last summer, as we returned to the field, we prayed for God to make us fruitful, leading others to him. Admittedly we've always prayed that, but these prayers had a greater intensity and expectancy.

Soon we saw five Muslim friends begin to follow Jesus - Praise God!  One of them was our regular taxi driver called Yasser. On one journey we noticed he was a little more talkative than usual. He mentioned that his father had passed away about 10 years ago. I shared that Psalm 23 had been an encouragement to me when my father also passed away about 10 years ago. I continued sharing Bible stories for the next half hour and after that he decided that he wanted to follow Jesus, while he was still driving! We had the joy of praying together with him in his taxi. Please pray Yasser and the other new believers here will grow strong in their faith.

REVERSING THE CURSE
In Acts 14 we read about a mob of Jews and Gentiles rejecting Paul and the preaching of the gospel in Iconium (modern-day Konya, Turkey). Paul leaves and goes to Lystra (modern-day Kilistra, Turkey) where God does a miracle of healing a cripple from birth. Soon the mob from Iconium arrives and stones him, leaving him for dead.

A visiting prayer team took these passages and sensed the Lord asking them to "reverse the curse." So earlier this year they walked the streets of modern-day Konya and Kilistra, worshipping, praising God and praying aloud.
At the end of their time in Konya, they met a Turkish man who has just become a believer through reading the Bible and encountering God. No church, no other believers, just the Bible and the touch of the Holy Spirit had led him to faith in Jesus. When he met the prayer team he was so encouraged by them that he found a new boldness. Together they went to a café and he shared his faith with the waitress. She then asked for a Bible to read! Later he said he has been sharing with three other people and wants to see many more come to faith.

We are so thankful for the way visiting prayer teams are changing the face of this country!

ATTITUDE-CHANGING PRAYER
Again and again I heard people in our city blaming India, Israel and America for all their problems. At the same time it was clear how much destruction people from our city were causing to neighbouring India and beyond. At a Frontiers conference I asked our teams in India about their attitude towards Pakistan. “Do they speak badly about our country?” “No, not at all!” They replied.

As I prayed I felt a strong urge that we on the Pakistan side should repent of our attitudes. At the end of our conference a group of us met to apologise on behalf of our people. The brothers and sisters from India forgave us on behalf of their people.
I was amazed when I returned to Pakistan: The local newspaper had begun a weekly double-page feature called: ‘India and Pakistan Friendship’ where people could share stories. From then I only ever heard one neighbour speak negatively about India. Something had changed.
